Golf Slang: “Attend the flag”

Definition

When someone stands by the flag while a golfer is putting it, they are said to be attending the flag. This allows them to view the flag from a considerable distance. Immediately after the golfer hits the ball, the person removes the flag to prevent the ball from hitting it.

Usage

You might be able to attend the flag for me. It is difficult for me to make out the hole from this distance.
